I've never done yoga before, is that ok?
If this is your first class, please let me know in the notes section when you book in.
It's a good idea to take a Yogi Basics or a Yoga Slow class first to get the feel for it and start to become accustomed to some of the yogi language you'll hear.
Do I need any fancy equipment?
Not really :)
Ideally, you have a yoga mat and some quiet space to set up in. Ensure you have ample room to spread out your arms and legs.
Yoga props such as a block, strap and blanket and cushion can be helpful but are not essential. It's amazing how much you can improvise!
Feel free to substitute a heavy book such as a dictionary for your block, a tea towel or dressing gown rope for your strap, and a blanket and cushion from your bed!
What if I miss my class?
Please send me an email as soon as you can, you can use your missed class as a credit at another time. No problem!
What kind of class should I take?
Yoga Flow classes will build heat in the body and are a great way to start the day. There will be a focus on strength and stability here.
Yoga Slow classes are great if you feel like you need to move but don't want to build too much intensity. We hold poses for a little longer and do a little less!
Yin classes are very different again, poses are held for three to five minutes.
Yogi Basics break down poses bit by bit. Perfect if you would like to refine your alignment and practice.
Pranayama + Meditation classes are just that, we breathe and meditate. No movement. A perfect addition post yoga class.
How do I use Zoom?
Zoom is the virtual meeting room that we hold our classes in.
Upon booking your class, you will be emailed a Zoom link.
Please click this link 5-10 minutes before class and follow the prompts to download Zoom. You can do this on your phone, laptop, or tablet.
The meeting room will then appear on your screen where you will have the option of showing your camera in the room so we can see you and say hello, or just joining with the audio so we can hear you.
I want to practice with you, but I really can't afford it financially, what should I do?
Don't be shy. Let me know! Please send me an email and we can work something out. I would much rather you practice with me for free, then not practice at all. Rumour has it I have been known to teach in exchange for ice cream and baked goods...
